Why You Should Always Follow Your Dreams

learner success story

If you follow us on social media you will have seen that we shared one of the academy’s success stories recently.

One of my lovely former students recently started her own business after completing a full beauty therapist course (while on maternity leave!) followed by spray tan and lash lift training. She is now the proud owner of J.R.D Home Beauty in Amble, and she is finally doing her dream job.

Lots of people go to work on a Monday and dream about what they would be doing if they had the chance. But there’s a difference between dreaming and doing.

What’s stopping you?

Maybe you’re afraid to leave a steady wage, maybe life and your responsibilities got in the way, I get it. But if you don’t try, you’ll never know what kind of life you could be living.

Here’s why you should put your fears aside and follow your dreams…

They motivate you

Dreams get you up in the morning, get you through the tough days, and give you purpose.

You’ll attract your tribe

You know the saying, your vibe attracts your tribe, and this is definitely true when it comes to people who have goals and dreams that they want to pursue. Your passion will rub off on other people and you’ll motivate each other to succeed.

You’ll inspire other people

I love inspiring people to further their beauty careers or to become their own boss, just as many people have inspired me over the years. You might not think it, but you could inspire someone to change careers or be their own boss too.

Life is too short to do a job you hate

We spend a lot of time at work, and there’s nothing worse than spending precious days counting down the hours until you can go home. Why not do something that inspires you and that allows you to make a difference to people? Imagine being excited to go to work every day!

Life is too short to not be happy

When you’re doing something you love, it doesn’t even feel like work because you’re in a kind of flow. The time flies by, and you feel happy. If this feeling isn’t familiar, ask yourself whether what you’re doing is really making you happy. If it’s not, make some changes.

It just might prove people wrong

How many times have you been told by people around you that ‘that’ll never work’ or ‘you’ll never be able to do this or that’? Well when you decide to pursue your goals and dreams, you’ll have the added satisfaction of proving them wrong.

You’ll make yourself proud

Other people might be proud of what you achieve, but more importantly, you’ll make yourself proud. Not everyone has the drive, ambition, confidence, and resilience to go after what they want.

So take my advice. Dream big and never stop working for what you want. You won’t regret it.
